PROTECT YOUR MUSIC WITH CONTENT PROTECTION
Content protection isn't in place to stop people from sharing your music and or video content. Content protection's purpose is to prevent monetization by those who upload your work to their social media outlets.
Let's look at Youtube as a case study. Youtube is the biggest music streaming platform with users of over 1 billion. As an independent artist, you should definitely tap into this stream.
CONTENT PROTECTION ON YOUTUBE?
From YouTube: “Copyright owners can use a system called Content ID to easily identify and manage their content on YouTube.”
“Videos uploaded to YouTube are scanned against a database of files that have been submitted to us by content owners. Copyright owners get to decide what happens when the content in a video on YouTube matches the work they own. When this happens, the video gets a Content ID claim.”
Let me paint this picture for you..... I have 1 million subscribers on my barber channel and I play your song in my haircut video. This video has 2 million views and you have a CONTENT ID on your song. The scan picks it up and which prevents me from making ad revenue due to the claim. Thus, all monies earned from that video on my channel are transferred over to the CONTENT ID owner.
Long story short, protect your work!!!!!
